Noodle board VS Stove board

The board over my sink is a noodle board. It is an antique and was used to lay out dough, cut and dry noodles, etc. I still enjoy making my homemade biscuits using this noodle board. It is great to think that someone else used it many, many years ago for the very same reason.

The board over my stove is a stove board. They’re reproductions of a noodle board and generally used for decorative purposes. If sealed correctly, you could use it as extra counter space.

Many times I am asked about how annoying it is to move. Well, this is why I keep mine empty. I don’t have a whole lot of room anyway, so keeping it empty means I can slide it anywhere and it’s out of my way completely. It keeps dust off my stove top too, not mention it just looks pretty. I usually use the stove board for making sandwiches (on a paper towel of course!) mixing batter, etc. I do not cut foods on it because the sealer isn’t food grade.

  1. Love this explanation. I knew they looked great on the stove, but did not know they served other purposes. Thanks :)
