Old Fashioned Homemade Biscuits
Homemade biscuit recipe
Preheat oven 500 degrees.
3 1/2-4 cups of self rising flour
1 1/2 cups of buttermilk
1/4 cup of lard
Hand mix in a bowl. Knead lightly. Kneading too much will cause dough to be tough, so just a couple of times.
Lay out on floured counter/board, cut out using a cup lid (or buscuit cutter).
Put on cookie sheet or cast iron pan, touching.
Put directly into oven for 8-12 minutes. Tops will start turning brown. (Broil may used if needed).
Immediately rub down with butter and cover with a clean dish towel.
So simple and so yummy. If you try this recipe, be sure to leave me a comment telling me what you think! Enjoy!
